Scotch in the Summer

I'll be honest.  I just haven't been that into Scotch the last few weeks.  There came one day where I became a little bored of the malty flavor and instead reached for a bottle of Bourbon.  And the other day I was even yearning for a nice ice cold aluminum can of Natural Lite.

I blame it on the hot, humid weather we've been having in New England lately.  Whisky is best when you want to let its rich, full flavor warm the back of your throat and spread down to your belly.  In this weather I need my drinks cool, and Bourbon takes ice better than Scotch (though I've been getting good use of my Scotch rocks lately).  

I might just ride this out and stick to beer and Bourbon until it cools down or I am back in the mood for some peat.
